My wife and I were doing a bit of spring cleaning over the weekend, and she suggested that I get rid of some of my pens. Little did she know, the day day before, I did get rid of some of my pens. It wasn’t until that moment I realized how attached I was to having a “few” extra pens lying around. I thought about it, and realized that I did not need 30 pens when I do most of my writing digitally. My wife asked if it were ok If I only kept two, but I negotiated it up to five 🙂 I can’t stand the thought of owning only two pens.
Is this a writer thing, or am I just weirdly attached to pens? Is anyone else overly attached to their pens, empty notebooks, or any other supplies that fuel your writing? If so, what is the thing other people would consider you to be too attached to?
